Lake James Overnight Paddleboard Trip

Spending a night on Lake James was the kind of trip that slows everything down in the best way. The group began their journey with a two-hour paddle across calm, glassy water, surrounded by mountain views and the quiet rhythm of dipping paddles. By the time they reached the tucked-away shoreline that would serve as their campsite, the stress of campus life felt far away. The group set up camp just a few feet from the water’s edge, where laughter carried easily across the lake as everyone settled in for the evening. Dinner by the water felt unhurried and comforting, followed by easy conversation and a sunset that painted the sky in shades of orange and pink.
As night fell, the group gathered by the shoreline to take in the stillness of the lake and the reflection of stars overhead. The morning brought clear skies and perfectly calm water for the paddle back, with the soft light of sunrise making every stroke feel peaceful and grounding. The Lake James overnight trip captured what so many love about being outdoors—the simplicity of good company, the calm that comes from moving with the rhythm of nature, and the rare feeling of truly getting away. For anyone looking to reset and reconnect, this trip is hard to beat.
