My passion for the outdoors is something that I found when I was a freshman in college, so being able to share passion every day is a dream,” says Program Coordinator Meghan Belanger. “Through the outdoors, I have found more than fresh and pretty views; I’ve found a sense of belonging and become a more confident person!”

Outdoor Pursuits, or OP, is your one-stop-shop to outdoor adventure both on and off campus. Here’s everything you need to know in order to take advantage of everything OP offers!

Trips

OP trips are open to all skill and experience levels! The trip fee includes transportation, meals, and all necessary gear. Since OP wants everyone to experience the great outdoors, they work to keep their trip fees as low as possible. From hiking and climbing to horseback riding and skydiving, OP offers tons of different trips. Check out the schedule and register for a trip online.

Rental & Resource Center

OP encourages students, faculty, and staff to experience the outdoors on their own time as well. A huge inventory of equipment is available, making outdoor exploration possible for everyone. Visit the rental website to see gear that’s available.

Climbing Wall

The indoor climbing wall features 10 rope climbing lanes, a host of climbable surfaces for bouldering, and two belay ledges for instructional classes. Shoes, chalk, and harness are provided free of charge, so there’s no excuse not to strap up. The climbing wall is currently getting a flooring update, and will be re-opened to everyone Spring 2020!

Challenge Course

This high and low ropes course is about 20 minutes from campus and consists of a climbing wall, zip line, pamper pole, and giant swing. Custom events can be designed to help groups form strong relationships and develop problem solving skills. Fill out this Request From if you’re part of a group or organization interested in having an event at the Challenge Course.

ReCycle Bike Share Program

Through a partnership with the Office of Sustainability, OP offers bikes to students, faculty, and staff. A $10 rental fee per semester covers maintenance, storage, and repairs. Help promote sustainable transportation on campus and apply for a bike today!

Getting outdoors is great for your overall wellbeing, so we hope you take advantage of everything OP has to offer.
