Sarah Zakrzewski is an incoming graduate student at Wake Forest University, who is working to get her Master’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. Sarah is originally from Niskayuna, New York and attended Ithaca College where she majored in Exercise Science with a concentration in Clinical Exercise and Wellness and a minor in Nutrition Promotion. During her time at IC, Sarah had the opportunity to work hands-on as a fitness specialist in a fitness center for faculty, staff, and graduate students. As a fitness specialist, Sarah learned how to effectively communicate and program for clients she was assigned. Sarah also completed an internship in a cardiac rehabilitation setting where she was able to practice taking blood pressures, read and monitor the patients ECGs, and learn more about the exercise training that can support heart health. Sarah has found exercise science to be a meaningful field in which exercise can be used to help manage chronic health conditions and promote living a healthier lifestyle. She is  looking forward to continuing her education at Wake Forest and is excited for the opportunity to work in Campus Recreation.
