Marc Poole - Coordinator, Outdoor Pursuits

Marc joined the Campus Recreation team in 2023 as the Coordinator of Outdoor Pursuits. Prior to working at Wake Forest, Marc lived in Romania, working as the Programs Coordinator at a youth climbing and education non-profit. Most recently, he was the Programs Coordinator at a climbing gym in Holland, Michigan and oversaw the outdoor adventure club at the local college. Originally from Northern Virginia (NOVA), Marc has also lived in Utah where he completed his masters degree and raft guided for one summer. Marc was drawn to Wake Forest for its commitment to liberal arts, its student body size and rich community, and its proximity to both mountains and sea. At Wake, Marc looks to connect students to the natural world and foster community through rich experiences. Beyond Wake, Marc enjoys exploring the abundant trails, rivers, birds, and disc golf courses that North Carolina has to offer, exploring them with his wife and dog.
