Marc Poole - Coordinator, Outdoor Pursuits

Marc joined the Campus Recreation team in 2023 as the Coordinator of Outdoor Pursuits. Prior to working at Wake Forest, Marc lived in Romania, working as the Programs Coordinator at a youth climbing and education non-profit. After moving back to the states, he was the Programs Coordinator at a climbing gym in Holland, Michigan and oversaw the outdoor adventure club at the local college. Originally from Northern Virginia, Marc has also lived in Utah where he completed his masters degree and raft guided for one summer. Marc was drawn to Wake Forest for its commitment to liberal arts, its student body size and rich community, and its proximity to both mountains and sea. At Wake, Marc looks to connect students to the natural world through community based experiences. Beyond Wake, Marc enjoys exploring the abundant trails, rivers, birds, and climbing areas that North Carolina has to offer, often exploring them with his wife and dog.
